It think it's a bit of BS personally per Ten Point. No longer have a Ten Point but if FD was to create a better Nock or parts it will void the Ten Point warranty. I never did and I killed a goat at 52 yards using 1/2 moon nocks. My issues is Ten Point is forcing people to use their Alpha nocks. Lighter in weight and they don't separate because it's a one piece build. I used 1/2 moon nocks on my Ten Point Turbo M1 and never had one issue. In my opinion there is a better version already out there vs the Alpha nock. (Yes Tom, I'll be sure to send you a BETA version of the nock) LOL. I have ordered a new constrictor and will be machining aluminum nocks with a full radius that will make the serving/string extremely happy. Makes a difference for those that desire to shoot dimes 50 yards. I already do this with the plastic moon nocks on my BEE's shooting out of my tried and true TS370. It would be optimal with regards to centering the nock to string IF, and only if, the nock has the same radius as the minimum of the serving when cocked. That said, if the nock is molded with an angle rather than a full radius then the nock acts like a log splitter through the wood. A more accurate statement would be spreading the seam between the wraps of the serving.įor those familiar with how "stiff" a serving can be due to wrap pressure, if you attempt to fold the serving on itself you will find the bend radii is approximately. Simply this means that the radius of the nock is like a wedge pushing on the serving and causing the serving to yield a "split". After reviewing the nock design it is apparent that the radius of the nock, at its point, is less than the minimum radius of the serving.
